Title: | Upper Truckee River Restoration and Golf Course Relocation Project EIR/EIS/EIS |
---|---|
Tracking Number: | |
Progress: | |
Summary: | The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, the California Department of Parks and Recreation, and Reclamation propose a restoration project along the reach of the Upper Truckee River that extends from its entry point at the southern boundary of Washoe Meadows State Park (SP) to that point just west of U.S. Highway 50 (U.S. 50) where the river exits Lake Valley State Recreation Area (SRA). The proposed restoration project would require relocation of a portion of the Lake Tahoe Golf Course to allow for restoration of the Upper Truckee River, reduce the area of stream environment zone occupied by the golf course, and allow for establishment of a buffer area between the golf course and the river. |

11/01/2018 | State Parks and the State Park and Recreation Commission certified the EIR and approved the project on January 27, 2012. A lawsuit challenging the adequacy of the document was filed in Alameda County Superior Court on February 29, 2012 and prevailed. Prior approvals were rescinded. To address deficiencies identified by the courts, State Parks has recently circulated the draft Preferred Alternative 2B and Additional Environmental Analysis (PAAEA), and recirculated the EIR/EIS/EIS. A meeting of the State Park and Recreation Commission to certify the EIR and approve the project is currently scheduled for February 2019. |
