Recovery Actions
Under the 1994 biological opinion on impacts of delivery of Central Arizona Project (CAP) to federally-listed fishes, Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) was required to make available $250,000 for the conservation of native fishes and $250,000 for the control and management against nonindigenous aquatic species. This dollar amount was increased to $275,000 per measure following the 2008 biological opinion. As described in the administrative section of this site, projects are identified by the Program’s Technical Committee, approved by the Policy Committee, and implemented by a variety of partners.
Below is a list of project reports summarizing the native fish recovery activities funded under the Gila River Basin Native Fishes Conservation Program.
