Phase 2 Implementation Plan: Testing the Feasibility of Reintroduced Salmon in the Upper Columbia River Basin
Programatic Environmental Assessment
The Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Bonneville Power Administration, collectively referred to as co-lead agencies, have prepared a draft programmatic environmental assessment under the National Environmental Policy Act for the federal support of the Phase 2 Implementation Plan: Testing the Feasibility of Reintroduced Salmon in the Upper Columbia River Basin. The P2IP was developed by the project proponents—Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Spokane Tribe of Indians, Coeur d'Alene Tribe, and Upper Columbia United Tribes—as part of a phased approach to reintroduce salmon into historic habitats to the Columbia River Basin in the areas upstream of Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee dams.
The co-lead agencies are seeking comment on the P2IP programmatic environmental assessment during the 30-day public comment period. The comment period will be open from Nov. 14, 2024, to Dec. 30, 2024.
The virtual public meeting room will be accessible 24 hours a day, allowing visitors to view the draft programmatic EA and project information, and submit comments. The virtual public meeting room website can be found at https://www.virtualpublicmeeting.com/p2ip-salmon-reintroduction-programmatic-ea
