Starting June 3, 2024, the Shasta Dam Visitors Center will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Shasta Dam and Powerplant Tour with a Tour Guide
Starting June 3, 2024, Reclamation Guides will be offering tours of Shasta Dam at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. (schedule subject to change without notice). The free tour will include a walk across the top of the dam, an elevator ride down 400 feet, and a short walk through the dam to a stunning view of the spillway. A tour of the Shasta Powerplant is included. Reclamation guides share the rich history of Shasta Dam, how it was built, and the important role it plays in the Central Valley Project. The tours will be offered on a first come, first service basis and tickets are handed out one hour in advance. They are also limited to 20 people per tour.
