About Us

The CGB Construction Office (WCO), created in 1990 to manage Reclamation’s burgeoning construction program, is the cornerstone of all preconstruction, onsite construction management, and construction contract administration throughout southern Oregon, western Nevada, and central and northern California.

Work history includes new construction, rehabilitation of existing facilities, extraordinary maintenance, concrete structures and buildings, safety of dams modifications, hazardous waste clean up and closure, fish screens, temperature control devices, fish facilities, canals and pipelines, pumping facilities, and storage dams and reservoirs.


Job Opportunities

The CGB Construction Office  has a continuing need for entry level Civil Engineers and  Construction Management Specialists.

Civil Engineers rotate through a series of progressively responsible engineering assignments in the CGB Construction Office, the California-Great Basin regional headquarters in Sacramento, the agency headquarters in Denver, and various construction sites throughout the Bureau of Reclamation, Rotation Engineers receive an accelerated promotion during their first year of employment and extensive travel is likely.  

Construction Management Specialists work closely with field engineering staff in a wide range of heavy civil construction management projects. Typical assignments include investigation of construction and engineering problems, conducting engineering studies, planning and scheduling construction projects, and assisting in construction inspections. Frequent travel is likely.
