Organization
Our Division is divided into four branches.
The two project management branches, Water Supply (CGB-720) and Delta and Conveyance (CGB-730), perform the initial planning for CALFED projects in the California-Great Basin. In cooperation with local stakeholders, the Planning Division leads the development of new storage and conveyance projects and the expansion of existing projects.
After the Planning Division completes the draft and final feasibility reports and environmental impact statements and other preliminary groundwork, the project may move into the construction phase.
The third and fourth branches, Decision Analysis (CGB-740) and Water Supply and Operations Analysis, models water conditions and projections in various areas of the California-Great Basin using state-of-the-art modeling software. Their water resources models are used by Federal, State, and local governments and private sector water agencies.
