Security Response Force
Mission
The Bureau of Reclamation’s Security Response Force (SRF) exists to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of water and power to the American public. We will protect our employees and public on Reclamation lands. We will vigorously defend generation assets, transmission assets and cultural resources. Through vigilance, preparation and dedication, we will prevail.
Reclamation’s SRF is an elite, armed tactical security force that is skilled, professional, and dedicated. Those who are recruited to become SRF officers must first graduate from the Security Response Force Training Center (SRFTC) Basic Training Program (BTP) Academy, which upholds the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards. The BTP Academy mirrors the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) curriculum and training methodology and all SRFTC instructors are FLETC certified.
What We Protect
SRF Officers are stationed at National Critical Infrastructures around the country. The Hoover Dam, Grand Coulee Dam, and Glen Canyon Dam all have SRF Officers conducting security operations day and night. Links to the dams listed above are located in the top left-hand side of this web page.
Recruitment
Reclamation is looking for elite candidates to join our professional, vigilant, and dedicated force. SRF Officers are required to pass and maintain a level of physical fitness which separates them from all other security forces. If you are interested in joining the SRF, the first step is to watch the video below and ensure you can meet the physical fitness standards of the SRF.
Security Response Force Officers are part of the Security Guard Series - GS-0085. To read more information about the Security Guard Series, click here.
