Rustic Cabins at Indian Creek Campground Owyhee Reservoir
Final EA & FONSI

The Bureau of Reclamation prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Oregon Parks and Recreation Department’s (OPRD) proposal to construct two rustic cabins on Reclamation-administered land at the Indian Creek Campground in Lake Owyhee State Park (LOSP), 13 miles southwest of the town of Adrian in eastern Oregon. OPRD has managed LOSP since 1958 under a lease agreement with Reclamation.

The EA details OPRD’s proposal to construct the accessible cabins in place of four existing recreational vehicle (RV) camp sites. The two 16 by 24 foot, wood frame cabins would each have two rooms with electricity, heat and air conditioning inside, and a large porch with an accessible ramp at the front. Each cabin site would also have parking and a picnic area with a table, grill and potable water. The cabins would provide an alternative camping opportunity for people who do not wish to use tents, trailers or RVs for overnight stays at the popular reservoir. Similar cabins at other units of Oregon State Parks have been quite popular.
