Rocky Mountain Power 345 kV Goshen to Kinport Transmission Line Right-of-Way Grants Project

The Bureau of Reclamation and Bureau of Indian Affairs issued a final environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for the Rocky Mountain Power 345 kV Goshen to Kinport Transmission Line Right-of-Way Grants project. The BIA proposed action renews an existing right-of-way grant for the portion of Rocky Mountain Power’s 345 kV Goshen to Kinport transmission line that crosses the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Reservation Tribal and allotted trust lands, administered by BIA. Reclamation’s preferred action grants a new ROW to Rocky Mountain Power for the portion of the 345 kV transmission line that crosses Reclamation-administered lands, in accordance with 43 U.S. Code (U.S.C.) 387 and 43 CFR 429. Although the transmission line has existed for nearly 50 years, documentation of the previous Reclamation ROW grant could not be located.

In coordination with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Reclamation and BIA developed the proposed action to provide Rocky Mountain Power access to the transmission lines on Tribal and Reclamation-administered lands to operate and maintain the transmission lines and provide reliable power to customers.
