Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District Ridenbaugh Canal Headworks Modernization Project
The Nampa Meridian Irrigation District has been selected for a U.S. Department of the Interior’s Water Sustain and Manage America’s Resources for Tomorrow (WaterSMART) grant to modernize their headworks facility in the Boise River for the Ridenbaugh Canal. The facility was nearing the end of its intended useful life and presented increasing maintenance needs and operational safety hazards.
The analysis of NMID's proposal was documented in an Environmental Assessment which resulted in the issuance of a Finding of No Significant Impact in June of 2025. Information on the modernization project can be found in the documents linked below.
Construction related to this project began in the fall of 2025 and is expected to be completed in early 2028.
