New York Canal Lining Project
Reclamation proposes to provide funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for the Boise Project Board of Control to install a canal lining system composed of a multi-layer geosynthetic membrane covered by reinforced concrete. The lining system would be installed on the canal invert and both canal walls. Installation of the lining would occur when the canal is dewatered during the non-irrigation season. This season typically spans from October to March each year. One mile of lining could occur each non-irrigation season starting in 2024. The analysis of the alternatives and findings are documented in an environmental assessment.
The analysis of the alternatives will be documented in an environmental assessment, and a draft will be available in spring 2023.
