2016 Expert Panels Meetings & Workshops
The Action Agencies and State, Tribal and conservation partners are continuing to conduct meetings and workshops prior to the Expert Panel workshops to assemble and organize information needed for the workshops, themselves. This was done prior to the 2012 workshops to relieve the heavy workload that expert panel members endured at the expert panel workshops in 2007 and 2009. This is being built upon for the 2016 workshops.
Topics at the pre-meetings and workshops address:
- development of lists for completed 2012-2015 (“look back”) and planned 2016-2018 (“look forward”) projects,
- development of project summary information to share at the workshops
- assembly of monitoring data to support expert panel estimates (in the short term) and future project planning (in the longer term).
Meetings are also being held to brief Tribal, State, and Federal administrators, managers, and staff on expert panel proceedings.
