The International Safety Evaluation of Existing Dams (SEED) Seminar is taking place June 5 - 14th. The seminar provides attendees with comprehensive instruction in dam safety examination and evaluation.

The principles, concepts, and procedures introduced by Reclamation are readily adaptable to any organization conducting a regulatory, or in-house dam safety program for existing dams.

This year, 48 people from 10 different countries are participating in the seminar, where they will be provided with information about dam safety, dam safety surveillance, hydrologic considerations, concrete repair information, remedial measures for dams, and emergency action planning.

Reclamation's dam safety experts provide valuable information to attendees throughout the study tour which begins in Reclamation's Denver Office, and moves to Utah. Participants are given opportunities to see effective dam safety applications in operation at several Reclamation facilities in Utah.

Reclamation values this unique opportunity to share dam safety knowledge and experience, and to provide guidance for attendees interested in learning more about dam safety. We appreciate all of the staff whose hard work ensures a successful, and learning-filled event.
