Public Scoping Meeting Scheduled on the North Sonoma County Agricultural Reuse Project in Northern California

The Bureau of Reclamation, the lead Federal agency, and the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA), the lead State agency, propose to prepare a joint Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report for the proposed North Sonoma County Agricultural Reuse Project (Project).

Reclamation and SCWA, in their continuing efforts to develop a recycled water supply for agricultural water users in the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valleys North Sonoma County have identified up to 25,000 acres of agricultural lands that could potentially use recycled water.

A scoping meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the Alexander Valley Community Hall, 5512 Highway 128, Healdsburg. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit comments from interested parties to assist in determining the scope of the environmental analysis and to identify the significant issues related to the proposed Project.
