Reclamation's Phoenix Area Office Moves to New Building

Reclamation's Phoenix Area Office is relocating to its newly constructed headquarters building in Glendale effective December 20.

The new address is Bureau of Reclamation, Phoenix Area Office, 6150 West Thunderbird Road, Glendale, Ariz. 85306-4001.

The office will be closed on December 16 and 19, to accommodate the move, and reopen on December 20. Information on contacting the office through the new phone numbers and e-mail will be made available online at http://www.usbr.gov/lc/phoenix/ beginning December 15.

The Phoenix Area Office has been leasing space since it turned over its former headquarters building to the Central Arizona Water Conservation District, operators of the CAP, in 1996. The new building, located on land owned by Reclamation, saves taxpayers $500,000 a year in operational costs.

The two-story, 30,000 square-foot office building will house all of the offices 100 employees. The Phoenix Area Office oversees Reclamations activities and projects in much of central Arizona, including providing federal oversight of the Central Arizona Project (CAP) and the Salt River Project.
