A $1,276,250 contract for new exhibits for Hoover Dam near Las Vegas, Nevada, was awarded June 1 by the Bureau of Reclamation to WN Holdings LLC dba Malone Design/Fabrication of Decatur, GA.

The contractor, a certified small business, will design, fabricate, and install exhibits for the Hoover Dam Visitor Center exhibit hall, theater lobby and entrance, and for the site's original exhibit building.

"These innovative exhibits will offer returning visitors a fresh perspective of the site, and new visitors will gain an improved understanding of Hoover Dam's critical water and power management role in the growing West," said Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner John Keys.

The dam's visitor facilities opened to the public June 21, 1995. Since that time, more than 9 million visitors have taken the guided tour of the site.

With increasing security demands limiting access to the dam, Reclamation is developing enhanced displays for the visitor facilities which will feature new graphic designs, multi-media presentations, and interactive components.

The visitor facilities and dam will remain open for tours during the duration of the contract, which is expected to be complete by December 2005.
