Reclamation Offers Tips to Enjoy Lake Cascade Sites

The summer season is drawing near and soon residents and tourists alike will be making their way to Lake Cascade to enjoy one of Idaho's most popular vacation spots for fun and recreation.
But before you pack up the camping gear and head to Lake Cascade, the Bureau of Reclamation has some tips and advice to make your visit safer and more enjoyable. Lake Cascade is located on the north fork of the Payette River near Cascade, Idaho.
In order to maintain the high quality of hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking opportunities, motorized vehicles are prohibited on signposted Reclamation lands.
The areas surrounding Lake Cascade, managed for wildlife, are closed during the nesting season which ends July 1 of each year. This restriction ensures that both people and wildlife have safe access to this popular vacation spot.
Camping is a major activity at Lake Cascade, but it is allowed only in designated campsites. All designated campsites are clearly marked and the regulations are strictly enforced. The Cascade Dam is restricted to only authorized personnel. The dam serves a vital function for recreation, irrigation and hydropower production. It is not a safe place to explore and people are prohibited in marked areas.
