For Release: May 28, 2004

The flow of the North Fork of the Payette River downstream of Lake Cascade will be increased from the current rate of 200 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 1,000 cfs. Reservoir release rates will be increased in three stages from Friday afternoon, May 28, through Saturday morning May 29.

The flow rate is being increased due to the recent rains and the fact that Lake Cascade is nearing capacity. Additional flow increases may be necessary later in the weekend or early next week. However, no unusually high flows are expected.

Lake Cascade is part of Reclamation's Boise Project and is located in Valley County Idaho.
