The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Alternatives Report for the proposed Windy Gap Firming Project Environmental Impact Statement. The document is provided as part of Reclamation's evaluation of the proposal under the National Environmental Policy Act.

After a lengthy screening process, a set of alternatives has been selected to move forward in the EIS process and undergo detailed evaluation. The Alternatives Report presents the alternatives and the screening used to identify them. Also available is the final Purpose and Need Report and Appendices for the proposed project. This document explains why the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District is proposing the Windy Gap Firming Project and provides extensive information on the needs of the participants.

Both documents are available to the public this week in either electronic or hard copy. To view the documents, please visit Reclamation's website at www.usbr.gov/gp/nepa/quarterly.cfm.
