For Release: November 23, 2020

WASHINGTON – On National Hydropower Day 2020 (Aug. 24) the Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Hoover Dam to promote clean and renewable hydropower to the benefit of our customers.

The three agencies committed to drafting an action plan within 90 days of the signing of the MOU and have accomplished this goal.

The agencies will present the draft action plan to their customers and stakeholders in coming weeks. There will also be a customer comment period to gather feedback on the draft plan. Following the customer comment period, the three agencies will finalize the action plan and continue stakeholder outreach as the plan matures.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we provide hydropower generation, transmission, and marketing of electricity in a safe and reliable manner.
