Reclamation announces virtual public meeting for proposed channel rehabilitation project on the Trinity River

WEAVERVILLE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation, along with the Bureau of Land Management and the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, will host a virtual public meeting on the Trinity River Restoration Program’s proposed Oregon Gulch channel rehabilitation project in Trinity County on November 5.

This project would construct a forced meander bend and rehabilitate floodplains on a section of the Trinity River at Oregon Gulch to increase salmon-and-steelhead habitat downstream of Lewison Dam.

The virtual public meeting will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and can be accessed online via the event page: https://www.trrp.net/calendar/event/?id=11685.

The virtual meeting will include TRRP presentations and opportunities to ask questions and provide input. A public scoping notice for the project will be available on October 22, 2020 here:https://www.trrp.net/restoration/channel-rehab/sites/oregon-gulch-channel-rehabilitation-page/.

Comments on the scoping notice are requested by close of business November 21, 2020. Email comments to fgutermuth@usbr.gov.
