Reclamation Announces 30-day public comment period for Madera-Chowchilla Water & Power Authority Operation, Maintenance, & Replacement Contract

Fresno, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces a 30-day public comment period for the transfer of operation, maintenance, and replacement activities related to the Madera Canal and other associated works to the Madera-Chowchilla Water & Power Authority for thirty-five years.

The Madera-Chowchilla Water and Power Authority is the non-Federal operating entity for the Madera Canal.

The Madera Canal carries water 36 miles north from Millerton Lake to lands in Madera County.
