For Release: August 04, 2004

Reclamation has released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Lake Berryessa Visitor Services Plan (VSP) for public review and comment. The DEIS outlines the proposed VSP alternatives that address issues related to future recreation at Lake Berryessa, including the type and level of facilities and services that are appropriate on Federal land. Current concession contracts at Lake Berryessa expire in 2008 and 2009, and the VSP will be used as a basis for future concession contracts.

An open house is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2003, to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions on the content of the DEIS. The open house will be held from 1-4 p.m. and will consist of informational displays staffed by project team members. Two formal hearings to receive public comments will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, from 1-4 p.m. and again from 7-10 p.m. The open house and hearings will both be held at the Solano County Fairgrounds, Exposition Hall, 900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo, California.

The DEIS may be viewed on-line at www.usbr.gov/mp/berryessa.
