WEAVERVILLE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation, Trinity River Restoration Program, along with co-lead agency Bureau of Land Management, cooperating agency U.S. Forest Service, and state lead agency North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, seek public input on a draft Environmental Assessment/Initial Study for the proposed Chapman Ranch Phase B channel rehabilitation project.

The TRRP’s multi-agency program’s eight partners form the Trinity Management Council, as well as numerous other collaborators. The TRRP implements the 2000 Department of the Interior Record of Decision, which directs the Department to restore the Trinity River fisheries impacted by dam construction and related diversions of the Trinity River Division of the Central Valley Project.

The TRRP proposes to construct the Chapman Ranch Phase B channel rehabilitation project to increase salmon and steelhead habitat downstream of Lewiston Dam, and plans to implement the project in summer 2021. The Phase B project will complement the Phase A project constructed in 2019.
