For Release: August 05, 2005

The Bureau of Reclamation's Yuma Area Office has installed an automated telephone system to provide current water level and flow information at facilities on the Colorado River in the Yuma area.

The number for the new Colorado River information line is (928) 343-8180. The public can call the line for information on Senator Wash Reservoir elevation and the weekend forecast for outdoor recreation at that reservoir, flows at Imperial and Laguna dams, and Mittry Lake water elevation.

Jack Simes, External Coordination Group Manager, said, "We believe the public will benefit by being able to call in at any time of the day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to get the latest information on water levels. Before the installation of this automated line, the public could only obtain this information during normal work hours, 5 days a week."

The YAO receptionist can also be called at (928) 343-8100 for further information.
