SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled a teleconference negotiation session with Central San Joaquin Water Conservation District for a water service contract.

The date and time of the teleconference negotiations are as follows (call 866-718-0082 and, when prompted, type in participant passcode 2620147#):

March 26, 2020 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to call in during the teleconference negotiations. The moderator will announce the agenda and the public is free to make comments at the end of the session.

Reclamation plans to release another draft repayment contract with a Central California Area Office contractor for public review later this summer. Reclamation will continue to release draft repayment contracts in addition to these throughout the year.

Section 4011 of the WIIN Act directs Reclamation to convert water service contracts to repayment contracts upon a contractor’s request and authorizes prepayment of outstanding CVP construction costs. Under Section 4011, full repayment is due within three years of the contract conversion.

Both the prepayment and accelerated repayment of the contracts will result in the federal government being repaid well in advance of the original repayment deadline. These dollars will be placed in a congressionally created account to fund much-needed projects. Increasing storage capacity will allow Reclamation’s projects to capture additional water in wet years to help meet the water needs for project purposes in dry years.

A draft form of the proposed conversion contract and exhibits will be available for download at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/wiin-act/. For additional information or assistance, contact Georgiana Gregory at ggregory@usbr.gov or 916 537-7051. Comments may be submitted to ggregory@usbr.gov, faxed to 916-989-7251, or mailed to Georgiana Gregory, at the above address.
