Public Meeting Notice Santee Sioux Nation Feasibility Study for Future Water Supply System

The Bureau of Reclamation and the Santee Sioux Nation are studying the water supply needs of the Santee Sioux Reservation through the year 2050. Reclamation will be holding a public meeting to present information about the feasibility study and gather input to address the reasonable alternatives for the Santee Sioux Reservation's future water supply system.
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires that public scoping be conducted to ensure that all reasonable alternatives are identified and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requires that the views of the public regarding historic properties be sought and considered. At the meeting, Reclamation will use the public's help to identify issues, concerns, and resources associated with the reasonable alternatives.

The Bureau of Reclamation will begin the meeting with a brief informational program. Meeting attendees will then be invited to provide feedback by participating in small groups to identify resources and present any concerns or suggestions. After a short break, the comments of each small group will be presented to the entire audience.
