Federal Employees Provide Gifts For 310 Children And Seniors Through The "Gifts From The Heart" Program

For the fourteenth consecutive year, Federal employees in Sacramento are participating in the "Gifts From The Heart" program, helping to make the holidays a little merrier for hundreds of children and seniors. Employees at the Federal Building on Cottage Way purchased gifts for 275 children and 35 seniors this year. The Bureau of Reclamation is coordinating the program at the Federal Building.

Last Christmas, more than 4,000 children and youths and 500 adults and seniors in Sacramento County received presents through the program; an estimated 10,000 gifts were distributed. "Gifts From The Heart" is coordinated by the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services, Child Protective Services.

The media is invited to the Federal Building, 2800 Cottage Way, Conference Room W-2620, on Thursday, December 4, 2003, from 10 a.m. to noon as volunteers collect hundreds of gifts. The gifts will be delivered to the "Gifts From The Heart" program on Friday morning, December 5, between 9 a.m. and noon.
