Keep Our Waterways Oil Free

Come meet "Bilgee" on Sunday, July 3, 2005 , from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Bilgee is the mascot for a water protection program at Lake Berryessa. Bilgee will be escorted around the lake at resort launch ramps by Reclamation Staff. Reclamation and Napa County are promoting the Recycling/Bilge Pad Exchange/Boater Program. Bilgee's motto is "Keep Our Waterways Oil Free," and he helps boaters accomplish this by providing free bilge pads, which absorb oil and gas leaked into boat bilges from engines. All lake resorts collect the pads and will provide new ones free at the gas docks. This is only one of the ways boaters can help protect Lake Berryessa drinking water from pollutants.

Please call the Visitor Center at 707-966-2111, ext. 113, for more information about specific events.
