Reclamation announces summer tour schedule at Shasta Dam

SHASTA LAKE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will begin the summer tours at Shasta Dam on Saturday, May 26.

Monday through Sunday tour times are: 9:00 a.m. 10:15 a.m. 11:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. 2:15 p.m. 3:30 p.m.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before listed tour time and are required to check in at the visitor center to receive free tour tickets. Tour is first come, first served, and 40 people per tour. No bags of any kind, electronic devices or weapons, including small pocket knives, are allowed on the tour; cameras and cellphones are permitted.

The Shasta Dam Visitor Center is also open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; it has displays and exhibits explaining the dam’s construction history with a 20-minute Shasta Dam movie showing in the Visitor Center auditorium. Shasta Dam Visitor Center staff also offer short presentations twice daily.
