TRUCKEE, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation prepared an Environmental Assessment/Initial Study and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Boca Dam Safety of Dams Modification Project, located on the Little Truckee River five miles northeast of Truckee.

Reclamation proposes to excavate material from within Boca Reservoir to construct a shear key and stability berm on the downstream face of the dam, and modify the spillway crest structure. The project will reduce seismic risks and meet Reclamation’s interim public protection guidelines.

The documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at: https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_projdetails.cfm?Project_ID=27372.

For additional information or to request a copy of the documents, please contact Alexandra Woodward at 916-978-5056 (TTY 800-877-8339) or aawoodward@usbr.gov.
