Birders Needed at Lake Berryessa!

NAPA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking volunteers to help conduct bird monitoring surveys at Lake Berryessa.

Volunteers will gain skills in bird observation and data collection on a variety of avian projects throughout the year. Projects include: monitoring great blue herons, golden eagles and bald eagles for nest success; banding mourning doves; and monitoring and maintaining artificial nest cavities for wood ducks. Opportunities are also available for volunteers to participate in bird-rel interpretation and nest box construction programs. Supplies and training are provided.
