SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation prepared an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for West Bay Sanitary District water recycling project at Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, Calif. The district proposes to construct a new satellite wastewater treatment plant on the Sharon Heights property and approximately 4.5 miles of pipelines and associated equipment to deliver recycled water to the golf course irrigation system and to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park, Calif.

The project could offset potable water usage by approximately 281 acre-feet per year.

The project falls under Reclamation’s Water Reclamation and Reuse Program, as authorized by the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act of 1992, or Title XVI of Public Law 102-575, as amended (Title XVI). Reclamation may provide the lesser of 25% or $20 million of construction costs to the District if it is selected for Title XVI funding through the competitive process and appears in enacted appropriations legislation.

The EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=31481.

For questions on the project or to request a copy of the documents, please contact Vanessa Emerzian at 916-978-5083 (TTY 800-877-8339) or vemerzian@usbr.gov.
