The Bureau of Reclamation is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of survey equipment that fell from the back of a government vehicle several weeks ago near Terrace Heights Drive in Yakima, Washington.

Two yellow canvas bags containing the equipment fell from the rear of the southbound utility truck at approximately 10:00 a.m., on April 21. Both yellow bags had the word "Trimble" written on them when they fell from the moving vehicle.

Both yellow bags contained a Series 4800 GPS Receiver, 12 volt batteries, controller cables, and a Series 4800 cylinder battery. The serial numbers engraved on the equipment are 0220145605 and 0220141780.

The employees were alerted to the missing equipment when a motorist pulled up next to them and told them something had fallen from the back of the truck they were driving.

"This equipment is very technical and specific to the job of land surveying," said Lee Crump, of Reclamation's Grand Coulee office. "Anyone who returns the equipment or can provide us with specific information on its whereabouts will be eligible for the reward."

Crump indicated that information was received about a driver of a blue midsize Toyota who may have picked up the two yellow bags and driven off, but specific information about the location of the survey equipment has not been received.

Anyone with information is urged to call Lee Crump at (509) 631-0662.
