Reclamation to purchase groundwater for San Luis National Wildlife Refuge Complex

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has completed an analysis of purchasing up to 6,000 acre-feet of groundwater from Modesto Properties for the East Bear Creek Unit of the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge Complex, under authorization of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act.
Reclamation has prepared a Finding of No Significant Impact detailing its one year purchase agreement starting this fall with Modesto Properties, also known as Modesto Duck Club.
The FONSI was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=26827.
