Reclamation's American River Water Education Center To Hold Get W.E.T Event

Reclamation's American River Water Education Center will host the fifth annual Get W.E.T. "Water Education Today" event on Sunday, June 6, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the California State University, Sacramento Aquatic Center.

The family-oriented event includes interactive displays demonstrating the dynamics of the American River, and encouraging responsible water use and appreciation of water as a resource. Children will enjoy games and activities such as making water rockets and water cycle bracelets. For adults there will be demonstrations on the ways they can easily save water. Participants who visit all the booths will be awarded special prizes. Organizations involved in the event include local water suppliers and districts, numerous local, State and Federal agencies, as well as various gardening and nature related organizations.

Directions:

From Highway 50: Take the Hazel exit, north. Turn right at the traffic light into the California State University, Sacramento, Aquatic Center. Additional parking is available at Nimbus Flats State Park for a nominal fee. The CSUS Aquatic Center is easily accessible from the American River bike trail.
