Reclamation seeks comment on Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District’s Kern River water use

FRESNO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review a draft Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed introduction and conveyance of up to 5,000 acre-feet per year of Kern River water in the Friant-Kern Canal for use within Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District over a five-year period.

The draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_projdetails.cfm?project_ID=29581.
