SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation approved drag boat exhibitions and competitions at East Park Reservoir in Colusa County, California for up to five years.

The inaugural event, hosted by the California Hot Boat Association, LLC, is currently scheduled for Sept. 9-10, 2017, at Serenity Cove on the reservoir’s east side. The event is estimated to attract 35 to 50 participants with up to 600 spectators and is part of the association’s Super Eliminator Shootout series. Colusa County, which manages the reservoir under an agreement with Reclamation and the Orland Unit Water Users’ Association, may use revenue collected from the event for the administration, operation and maintenance of recreational areas.

The final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposal on drag boat exhibitions/competitions at the reservoir were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=29281 . The draft EA was provided to the public for review July 11-25, 2017, and no comments were received.
