GRAND COULEE, Wash. — The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking comments on the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for a shoreline stabilization project at Cayuse Cove on the Spokane Arm of Lake Roosevelt in Lincoln County, Wash.

The proposed project would stabilize the shoreline and arrest bank erosion by installing gabion baskets and a cellular containment system. These structures would be reinforced with native shrub plantings and grass seeding.

The draft EA addresses two actions: the proposed action and a no action alternative. The proposed action was developed in cooperation with the Spokane Tribal Preservation Program and Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Bonneville Power Administration, National Park Service, and the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.

The draft EA is available at https://www.usbr.gov/pn/programs/ea/wash/cayuse/index.html. Please send written comments no later than August 2, 2017, to Rebecca Thompson, Project Manager, Bureau of Reclamation, 1150 North Curtis Road, Boise, Idaho 83706 or by email to rthompson@usbr.gov.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact Ms. Thompson at 208-378-5191 or Ms. Shawna Castle at 208-378-5268.
