GRAND COULEE, Wash. — The Bureau of Reclamation has contracted with ACCU Construction Inc., Santa Ana, Calif., to repair various roads and parking areas throughout the facilities maintained by Grand Coulee Dam. Work is scheduled to begin in early March and be completed by May 23.

The public will experience up to 10-minute delays when work occurs. Areas to be repaired are Highway 155, Marina Way, the Washington Wildlife Access Road (aka Washington Flats Road), the Boat Launch Access Road at Elmer City, Seaton’s Grove Boat Launch, and the road leading into the park below the Visitor Center. The top of North Dam also will be closed to pedestrians when work takes place across the top of the dam.

“We want the public to enjoy Reclamation lands and repairing these roads will provide visitors with safe access to these areas for years to come,” said Public Affairs Officer Lynne Brougher. Surveying and road preparation work will begin in March. Various treatments will include laying grind material on Washington Flats Road in March, placing hot mixed asphalt on the road below the Visitor Center and at the Boat Launch in late April, and performing chip-seal work on the Boat Launch Road and Highway 155 in May. Schedules are weather dependent. Information concerning road status will be posted on roadways prior to and during construction.
