For Release: May 27, 2005

The Bureau of Reclamation plans to increase releases in the Lower American River below Nimbus Dam due to forecasted inflow into Folsom Reservoir.

On Monday, May 30, 2005, at 8 p.m., Reclamation plans to increase releases from Folsom Reservoir from 6,000 to 8,000 cubic feet per second. Reclamation's intent is to keep flows at lower levels through the Memorial Day weekend; however, if conditions change and inflow is greater than expected, increased releases may be made sooner and at a higher level.

Recreationists on or along the Lower American River are advised to exercise caution due to possibly higher and colder river flow conditions.
