Due to recent heavy rain and flooding of the Little Wood River, the Bureau of Reclamation has temporarily closed access to High Five Campground on the Little Wood River near Carey, Idaho. The road will remain closed until personnel have assessed the amount of damage and have it repaired for safe passage, said Chris Ketchum, Reclamation Deputy Area Manager.

The popular primitive camping area is in Blaine County and used heavily on Memorial Day weekend.

"There will be some spots available for camping just upstream from the damaged area. However, those spots may be limited for space due to the road closure," Ketchum said. "The few spaces that are accessible may be muddy or limited in size due to the high water."

Reclamation is advising campers to search out other locations this year that haven't been impacted by flooding.
