SONORA, Calif. – On Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, the Bureau of Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region, Central California Area Office, will waive day use fees at New Melones Lake for all visitors in honor of the men and women of the U.S. military who have given so much for our country.

While visiting the recreation areas free of charge, enjoy a hike or a bicycle ride along one of the lake’s many trails. Ranger-led activities at New Melones support the Department of the Interior’s Let’s Move Outside initiative ( www.letsmove.gov/lets-move-outside), which was created to encourage children and their families to enjoy outdoor activities, which abound in every city, town and community.
