Lake Berryessa to Participate in First Winters Salmon Festival

WINTERS, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation will join the City of Winters, Solano County Water Agency, Putah Creek Council, Lower Putah Creek Coordinating Committee, Putah Creek Trout, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, local businesses, and others in celebrating the return of salmon to Putah Creek for the first Winters Salmon Festival.

The festival will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in downtown Winters at Rotary Park, 201 E Main Street. Festival-goers will enjoy live music, interactive activities, face painting, a salmon derby, food and beverages, raffle items, an opportunity to meet Quagga Mussel Dogs, and much more!

Lake Solano County Park, 6 miles west of Winters, at 8685 Pleasants Valley Road, will offer fly casting, fly tying, and trout fishing. No fishing license is required to participate in the event. Visitors can park at either Winters or Lake Solano County Park and hop on/off the new City of Winters 16-passenger van to participate in the events at either location.
