Reclamation Announces Fall Events in the Lake Berryessa Region

NAPA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation’s Central California Area Office announces fall 2016 park events in the Lake Berryessa region of Napa and Solano counties. All activities will be held rain or shine and are free of charge. Children are welcome, but those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dufer Point Visitor Center Now through April 1, 2017: Weekends Noon to 3 p.m. Park Rangers are available to answer questions about natural resources, recreational opportunities, wildlife, and the area’s history. Brochures, maps, trail guides, and other educational information are available free of charge. Contact the Park Rangers at 707-966-2111 ext. 113 for more information about park events and programs.

National Public Lands Day Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Dufer Point Visitor Center Students from Pacific Union College will team-up with Park Rangers to renovate Dufer Point Visitor Center’s existing native plant display in order to provide improved habitat for wildlife. Participants should dress in layers and bring work gloves, close-toed shoes, sunscreen, a hat, a refillable water bottle and a lunch/snack. Winters Salmon Festival Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rotary Park, Winters, and Lake Solano County Park Join Reclamation, the Solano County Water Agency, Solano County Parks, and Pacific Gas & Electric in celebrating the return of salmon to Putah Creek. Activities at Rotary Park in downtown Winters will include face painting, live music, a salmon derby, and food and beverage vendors. Visitors to Lake Solano County Park will be treated to fly casting, trout fishing, and a display of student art. The parking fee at Lake Solano will be waived for the day.
