The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has released a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) which evaluates the proposed construction of a fish screen in the Redlands Power Canal. The canal transports water diverted by the Redlands Diversion Dam on the Gunnison River near the city of Grand Junction.

The fish screen would return endangered and other fish that enter the Redlands Power Canal to the Gunnison River downstream of the Redlands Diversion Dam.

To receive a copy of the draft EA call Terence Stroh at (970) 248-0608. Written comments can be faxed to (970) 248-0601, emailed to tstroh@uc.usbr.gov, or mailed to Terence Stroh, Bureau of Reclamation, 2764 Compass Drive, Suite 106, Grand Junction, CO. Comments must be received on or before Friday, November 7, 2003.
