For Release: May 12, 2005
Reclamation has increased releases from Keswick Reservoir to the Sacramento River to 20,000 cfs, today, Wednesday, May 11, 2005. The increase is due to forecasted periods of continuing unsettled weather and precipitation over the next 2 weeks. The increased releases will provide additional storage space at Shasta Reservoir should significant precipitation and inflow events occur. Reclamation staff will continue to monitor the forecasted weather and hydrologic conditions and adjust project operations based on the most current information. Individuals planning activities along the Sacramento River should be aware that flows will be higher than is typical for this time of year. For additional information please contact Mr. Paul Fujitani at 916-979-2197.
