Trail Impacts at Folsom Reservoir’s Dike 4, 5 and 6 During Geotechnical Work

FOLSOM, Calif. – Beginning April 18 through the month of July, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in coordination with the Bureau of Reclamation and California State Parks, is scheduled to perform routine Safety of Dams Program exploratory drilling along portions of Folsom Reservoir’s Dike 4, 5 and 6. The dikes are earthen embankments on the northwest shore of Folsom Reservoir, near the intersection of Auburn-Folsom and Eureka Roads in Granite Bay.

The drilling and related trenching work activities are scheduled to begin at Dike 6, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., for 10 days on followed by four days off until work is completed, which is expected to be in July.

Barricades, cones, construction fencing and warning signs will be used to keep pedestrians away from construction zones. Please follow the detour signage to go around the work zone. During the four day off schedule, access across the dikes will be unrestricted.
