Fresno Dam Releases May Result in Rapidly Changing Flows in the Milk River

The Bureau of Reclamation will be making releases from Fresno Dam on April 19, between 1 and 4 pm, to test the operation of a recently rehabilitated regulating gate. Anyone on or near the river should stay alert for rapidly changing flows and water depths. The flows in the river may vary between 200 cubic feet per second (cfs) and 1,000 cfs. The maximum release will be of short duration limited to a few minutes or less. The noticeable change in the depth of the river is expected to be limited to the first few miles downstream of the dam.
