SHASTA LAKE, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact that analyzed allowing eight Sacramento River Settlement Contractors to extend the period of use of contract water from Oct. 31 to Dec. 10, 2015.

The extension provides much needed food and habitat during the drought for waterfowl, shorebirds and other species dependent upon the Pacific Flyway. The extension also provides operational flexibility for Reclamation’s Central Valley Project and includes more stable river flows. The EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=23335. If you encounter problems accessing the documents, please call 916-978-5100 (TTY 800-877-8339) or email mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.
